Doctor Gelinas and staff

Dr. Gelinas performs several different types of Vascular, Thoracic and General Surgeries in Crystal River, FL- while serving patients throughout Citrus County and the surrounding area.

Dr. Gelinas is a Board Certified Vascular and General Surgeon as well as a Board Eligible Thoracic Surgeon.

Presently, Dr. Gelinas maintains his own surgical practice with offices at 11535 W. Emerald Oaks Drive in Crystal River, Florida.

Dr. Gelinas has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from St. Michael’s College in Vermont, a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Massachusetts, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the University of New England.

Dr. Gelinas is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Early in his career, Dr. Gelinas attended the United States Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, Georgia, did an internship at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida, and then went on to do his residency in General Surgery at Ohio Valley Medical Center in West Virginia and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Gelinas was a Staff General Surgeon at Gorgas Army Hospital in Panama, Central America, a participated in a Fellowship for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Bi-County Community Hospital , then went on to Staff Surgeon at Severn Rivers Regional Medical Center Wound Care.

Dr. Gelinas then became Chief of Surgery , Vascular, Thoracic, and General Surgery at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. He was also an Associate with Dr. John W. Royalty, DO, FACOS in Crystal River.

Dr. Gelinas's hobbies include hiking, camping, running, and reading as well as keeping up on the latest advances in vascular, thoracic and general surgery.
